English assignments for all grades 6-12 from March 16-April 6
1. Journal Entries- Students are required to write a journal entry in their composition book each day for the first ten school days we are off. These are a free write, so any topic they choose is fine. Students must write for a minimum of five minutes. I have sent their composition books home with them to write in.The last five week days are spring break. They don't need to write on those days.- Each journal is worth 10 points so this has a 100 point total.
2. Friendly Letters- Students must write two Friendly Letters to me. (follow format with the date, a greeting, a body paragraph or two, a closing and a signature) They should be completed on March 20 and March 27.
3. Reading Book/Summary- Students must read one book over these three weeks. The book must be at least 50 pages in length. After reading, students must write a summary discussing the content of the book in at least three paragraphs. The Title, the author and the number of pages must be included in the summary, as well as a personal reflection on the books strengths and weaknesses.
Wishing each and everyone of you a safe and secure time away from school! I will see you in April!
